NJFTC Outreach Scrimmage Coming to Livingston High School on June 27th

by: Robert Allen Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

If you are a new FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC team) or considering forming a FTC team this year, you have an excellent opportunity to learn what FIRST Tech Challenge is all about. Livingston High School will be hosting the 2009 northen NJ region FTC Outreach Scrimmage on Saturday, June 27th. The “Outreach Scrimmage” is a day-long event (from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), that combines an orientation to FTC for perspective coaches and mentors, with a team-building competiton and multi-team alliance game for students. Veteran NJ FTC teams will adopt new students into their Alliance and help them to come away with full FIRST Tech Challenge experience. The new partcipants will strategize, scout, drive and be fully involved in the day’s competition. With some luck and skill, they can come away with the Finallist or Winning Alliance title (…and hopefully the FTC bug). If you are an adult with a handful of truly interested students, this event is for you! What a great way to gauge the real level of interest and position yourself for FTC success! The above event is also being held on July 18th at Moorestown High School and July 25th at Spotswood High School. There is no charge for attending, however space is limited. If you are interested and/or need more information, please contact NJFTC Planning Committee Chair Vincent Fracella at VincentFracella@baesystems.com as soon as possible.
