June 14, 2009 – Through the Darkness – Fight Depression Charity Walk  This event is the brainchild of Margo Gruenberg, and Gregg Greenberg, both freshmen at Livingston High School. The Charity Walk (laps around the Oval) is to raise money for NARSAD (National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression), the world’s leading mental health organization, and to raise awareness of Depression, and the Got Blue Campaign. The Charity Walk is sponsored by The Freshmens Friends Club and the Livingston High School, and coordinated by the students in the Livingston Youth and Community Services (LYCS) program.

Depression affects everyone, young, old, rich and poor. It is a devastating condition, not only to the sufferer, but on those around them. Help us to help the community by raising awareness of Depression and the services available for those in need. Prove that “You’re Not Alone…” by joining us in helping our community and raise awareness about Depression. Participate, sponsor a walker, volunteer, or cheer those lapping the Oval. Bring the family for a fun filled morning in support of a worthy cause on Sunday June 14, 2009, 10-12 noon at the Oval in Livingston. Registration begins at 9.20am for participants. For additional information, please e-mail: and/or print out a leaflet
