Livingston Youth and Community Services Offers April and May Programs

Chinese New Year Celebration on April 10, 2010 at Livingston High School  from 4:30-9:30 p.m.

Join us in celebrating the Year of the Tiger with Chinese cultural performances, exhibits, Chinese arts workshops, children’s games and fun activities for seniors. A food court will also be available. Tickets are required for the food court and evening performance. This wonderful program is brought to you by the Livingston Chinese Association (LCA), Livingston Huaxia Chinese School (LHXCS), Livingston Chinese School (LCS) and Livingston High School (LHS), and co-sponsored by the Livingston Youth and Community Services Program (LYCS). John Halligan’s presentation on Cyberbullying, Depression and Suicide on April 12, 2010 in Heritage Middle School Media Center at 7:30 p.m.

This presentation is FREE and open to middle school and high school students and parents. Mr. Halligan’s son, Ryan died by suicide on October 7, 2003 after being bullied by classmates at school and online. He was only 13 years of old. Mr. Halligan’s presentation will cover the lessons learned too late for his family regarding how to deal with bullying, cyberbulling and teen depression. As a follow-up to the highly successful Montclair Mirror Project last year, LYCS will be sponsoring our own Livingston Mirror Project on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Monmouth Court Community Center from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

This is a FREE program and open to students (grades 6 and older) and parents. Come and join us in creating a mirror that reflects who you are? To participate, email RSVP to Susan Ridley, LYCS Program Director, at by April 21st.
