West Essex YMCA Offers Children’s Programs: Grades 6-12

The West Essex YMCA is offering several program options for children in grades 6-12.  Youth and Government is being offered to high school students and will teach them how to be an active citizen. Teens on a Mission for children in grades 6-8 will teach children to design and implement service project, among other things.  Creative writing for children in grades 5-6 will include mini lessons in poetry, creative writing, etc.  Teen Challenge for children 12 to 17 years old will help build leadership and teamwork skills.  Teen Night for children in grades 6-8 is back with activities including basketball, dance, music, art Wii and more.  For more information on any of these programs, please contact Jesseca Sullivan, Youth and Teen Director, West Essex YMCA, at jsullivan2@metroymcas.org or at (973) 992-4500 ext. 107.

The Y also offers free membership to 7th graders! This offer includes free guided teen workouts every Tuessday and Thursday form 4:00-6:00 p.m. Please register your teen in advance to ensure their place in the program.
